Doug Leaman, Vice President Sales - East

 

Doug started in the JanSan Industry, during summer vacations from high school, refinishing gym floors, working for his father. His father owned a distributorship in Boston and co-inventor of the fist "Square Floor Machine" called Square-Buff!

 

Doug joined Triple S, as National Sales Manager, which was just being organized, as a "buying/marketing group"! He was the fourth employee and they started with 13 member/distributors and 7 suppliers. His position was to travel the country, secure new members, help bring on board new suppliers under Triple S brand while promoting brand. Doug also trained the member sales staff to sell the new brand. In 11 years, Triple S grew to 78 members, 38 suppliers and sales grew significantly every year. 

 

After the challenge at Triple S, Doug joined Golden Star where he remained there for 20 years, as National Sales Manager and National Account Manager. Golden Star grew, from a "sleepy", well respected dust mop and mat manufacturer, to the "premiere", private label company of the highest quality wet mops, dust mops and matting. He service both the jan san, as well as, the textile rental market and grew both segments substantially while at Golden Star. Doug put on such customers as TripleS, ProLink, AFFLINK, AMSAN, TUG, Cintas, ARAMARK, G&K, AmeriPride, ALSCO, ServiceMaster, SMA, Dustex, ABM, SAMS Club's!

 

Doug started his own rep angency in 2008 where he represented a limited number of manufacturers, which included CPI, Genesan chemical (import specialty chemical line) and ice melt (from Dan Carr). He grew CPI into one of the top territories in the country through focusing on three major markets and training the sales people the CPI systems. 

 

In 2014 Doug became the Vice President of Sales for CPI where he is responsible for all sales east of the Mississippi. He has quickly made a mark by putting on key accounts and bringing in direct sales people to boost sales. Doug has built a reliable customer base through strong relationships and superior product knowledge. He has always taken product expertise in put it into a system sell to build stronger distributors.
